THE VOID DIARY

Euphoria is just a mere word for expressing the excitement that I have been experiencing from the very first day here at UTM. Amidst this exigent epidemic I wanted to write the introduction to the empty diary of my life towards the new beginning. Here I am now elucidating my first campus experience settling myself with a cup of coffee and reminiscing the beautiful instants here from the very first day.

The main entrance to the campus

I could not be more contended than getting my offer letter from UTM. And it got even better when it was guaranteed that I was coming here in Malaysia at Johor in the Serene campus of UTM, my next four years to be settled here and filling out every pages of the diary toward a new hope. Me and my father along with two of my friend and their family safely reached this land on 27th January, 2020. It was like a dream or even what they might call "the leap of faith". Reaching Johor from Kuala Lampur my father  insisted  for us to settle down at a hotel and then visit my very own campus allocated for the next four years and finalizing the formalities here.

Boxed up writing representing the hashtag of pride for every UTM students

But first thing first I became the most ignorant one and wished to visit my campus first. My father had no options but to respect my wishes seeing my unavoidable enthusiasm. We took a car from the airport and went for some morning refreshments. After-all the jet-lag was not to be ignored. After our meal we started for UTM International where all the inaugural formalities was supposed to be completed. The first time my eyes looked upon the campus, I was sure enough that this journey is going to be competent enough to be recalled upon. As the wheels of the car were rolled by my eyes were rolling by the serene view of the campus starting from the trees, roads, faculties, apartments, dorms, playing fields destined for various sports and much more. It was not  easy to gulp up everything between these two thousand acres in just the first appearance but my eyes tried to take in every details possible. While enjoying these moments I reached UTM International and completed the formalities there. And then was sent of to the medical center for a primary checkup. After going through all the tests and requirements I was discharged hoping for a positive report in the very next day. Afterwards we went to book our rooms at KLG campus residence and ended up in taking a triple sharing bedroom. We got our room at the eighth floor. At the first glance from the balcony of the eighth floor I was a bit curious then realized i was not dreaming. That was a sheer relief though.

The view from the dormitories can be very uplifting

The rugby field might impress all with the open vast sky over the head and plain grassy field underneath

Even though the light fades away a new piece of art is born every moment

Then moving on we checked in to a hotel in the JB city as we wanted to spend the rest of the few days with our family before they leave for our country instead of living in KLG, after-all we were going through a mixed emotional dilemma.

Registration office for new students at UTM

Time for the next preparations came. We were to take a step in the last floor of the settlement in this very institution. We collected our medical reports and went to the registration office located as SARD. Then we went through a process of 8 steps and eventually got our metric card marking out final establishment as the official student of UTM. After all the formalities been taken care of and with some days left in our calendar before our course registration and beginning of our classes we decided to visit around a couple of places. I have been to Malaysia three times before for family vacation which is not intended for any flex purposes but it is a matter of fact that this country has a lot scenic beauty to offer us and it is not possible to enjoy it in one vacation. But this was the first time seeking a different purpose. The next day we started for Kuala Lampur and stayed there  for three days. We had to visit the KL tower it's not being the stereotype but its structural and diverse beauty intensifies the  fact of us visiting there. We took a detour to Melaca city while coming back to Johor from KL. We came to know about the Portuguese rule here visiting the archaeological sites in Melaca.

Some little memories

After that the woeful time came when we had to bid farewell to our family. But we had to have a control over these emotions as it was for our own good towards a new beginning. After this we explored the UTM campus a little. We visited places including Balai Cerap which is known as the highest peak of UTM, the central mosque, the lake and went to Desaru beach as well. The foods variation here is undoubtedly one of the most prominent things here.

The local and international cuisine here is very top notch and very delicious to savor

After all these the day finally came when the first class started and marked a pointer toward the new journey of my life.

It's not enough to write out the experience in such short and nugatory words. But this was my story that occupied a smallest part of the void diary for the biggest adventure towards prosperity of my life. A long way I have to go amidst all the challenges and hardships that would come along the way of this journey. Prayers up.
